On our farm, we grow 60+ seasonal varietals within the Proteaceae and Haemodoraceae families including: Protea, Banksia, Grevillea, Kangaroo Paw (Anigozanthos), Leucadendron, Pincushion (Leucospermum), Waratah (Telopea), and more!

Genus: Protea
Protea is a striking genus of flowering plants native to South Africa. They're known for their bold, artful blooms and strong leaves. These plants are among the oldest flowering species on Earth, dating back over 80 million years.
IN BLOOM: January - December
Genus: Banksia
Banksia is a genus of iconic Australian wildflowers known for their cone-shaped flower spikes and serrated leaves. They play a vital role in their ecosystems by providing nectar for birds and insects, and their woody cones can release seeds only after exposure to fire.
IN BLOOM: August - February
Genus: Leucospermum (Pincushion)
Leucospermum, also called pincushion proteas, are celebrated for their vibrant, spherical flower heads that resemble pincushions. These flowers are perfectly adapted to attract birds for pollination with their brightly colored, nectar-rich blooms.

Genus: Telopea (Waratah)
Telopea is an Australian native celebrated for its bold, crimson flower heads and elegant, symmetrical structure. The name “Telopea” is derived from the Greek word meaning “seen from afar,” while “Waratah” comes from an Aboriginal word meaning “beautiful".

Genus: Leucadendron (Cone Bush)
Leucadendron is a South African genus admired for its vibrant, seasonal foliage and distinctive cone-shaped seed structures. These plants thrive in nutrient-poor soils and extract nutrients very efficiently, making them highly resilient in tough environments.
